Living in the moment…..

What a beautiful weekend…..the weather could not be better. I can’t bear people complaining about the heat now, as we have just come out of the wettest few months in years! Enjoy it while it lasts!

Even though I have had to do quite a bit of work this weekend, the lazy afternoons in the gardens with the children has made it all worth it.

When I have had a wonderful day with the family, I don’t mind spending a few hours in the evening, during the quiet, when the children have gone to bed, getting things all in order….especially this term when everything needs to be prepared for a fresh, strong start in September.

The main thing is to keep the balance right so that your job does not take over your life, which could happen very easily if you aren’t careful. I have seen it so often, where heads let the job consume them.

If you begin to see your job as a chore, your work ethic will suffer. You won’t be as dynamic as you could be and your vision will become cloudy. Passion for your job comes from enjoying every challenge that comes with it, even enjoying the days where you know you could have done better. When the motivation for doing your job well begins lacking, your job will become a chore and you won’t be as successful at it as you once were.

Having a balance between enjoying your job and enjoying your life away from your job ensures you have a clear perspective, ensures you have time to have a bit of fun, ensures you are able to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Having a balance between the two, allows you to live your life to the full, allowing you to feel fulfilled.

Live your life so that you have no regrets. Spend quality time with those that you love, do a job that inspires you and always do what you know is right.

Maintain the balance and truly begin ‘living’ in each moment……
