I was booking dates into the calendar today and realising how few dates we have left until the end of this term. Dates get filled in so quickly and there are so many events being organised that when they have all happened you wonder where the time went.
I absolutely love the busyness of the final term. So many things going on and so many things to look forward to. September sits patiently, glistening of hope and promise and a new year of change and excitement!
I’m trying to get everything into place and have all the procedures ready. I’m hoping that at the end of this academic year when everything is up and running, new policies written, new documents in order, things will just run smoothly and it will only be a matter of keeping things updated.
Each day my ‘to-do’ list gets bigger and bigger with things I keep thinking of and adding on. I just remind myself about prioritising and keep focused. We just have to take each day as it comes and do one thing at a time. Eventually everything gets done…..the main thing is that things get done with the quality you want so that you don’t have to keep coming back to it.
I’m learning not to be as much as a perfectionist as I used to be. That doesn’t mean that things aren’t done with the same quality – it just means that I don’t spend additional hours doing anything unnecessary, once something is actually completed.
I’m learning every day…..making changes to the way I do things and constantly thinking about how to improve……
It’s all a continuous cycle……
