No occupation is so delightful to me as the culture of the earth, and no culture comparable to that of the garden.
We have had an incredible day in our garden. The sun has been shining and the kids have been happily playing all day in their den and on their bikes.
Summer feels like it is here already, we have skipped right through winter without any real cold or snow….but I suppose it could still come…..
I cleared out one of the greenhouses ready to plant full of tomatoes and I am trying to be organised enough so another greenhouse gets cleared so we can begin thinking about what other plants we want to try to grow this year.
I am looking forward to picking the first fruits/vegetables of our harvest. The children are already thinking about what they want to plant…..
I am absolutely in love with our garden….the possibilities, the colour choices, the layout, and the landscaping. I am dreaming of what it will end up looking like…..dreaming of our summertime afternoons.
I was never into gardening shows or reading about the ‘ins’ and the ‘outs’ of sowing and planting seedlings, but now it is just another hobby that I get excited about!
Gardens, I have found, also grow childhood imaginations, where young minds play pretend, imagining they are in the jungle or living off the land on a remote jungle.
A garden provides endless inspiration…a canvas awaiting a technicolor splash!
